Help I am trying to identify a pair of Allison bookshelf's that are on e-bay.

They are box shaped but look to be scalloped in the front with wedge shaped sides covered with black cloth and also a single driver on the top of the cabinet also covered in black cloth.

I have had no luck anywhere trying to identify them,
I do remember a friends dad having 4 of them years ago hooked to a Mccintosh they sounded awsome.

thank you all for the help

Sounds like Allison 4's. A single 8" woofer/midrange facing upwards and two fmidtange/tweets angled off the angled sides. I saw Roy demo these at the NYC hi-fi show in 77 or 78.

Great sounding units is you placed them correctly.

I suggested in a thread on AR LSTs that the Allison IV stands in the same relation to the MST as the Allison I and II stand in relation to the LST and LST 2. Don't know if this is strictly accurate, though it does seem like Roy Allison just picked up with the room interaction/wide dispersion thing he was doing at AR, but with the I and II he was able to define the relationship to 2 boundaries, not just 1, and with the III, he got three boundaries.
Incidentally, this comment is a compliment to both lines.
