Hey all, Recently got my hands on a pair of these and now I'm needing more power. My Marantz 2270 isn't up to the task.(never thought that would happen!) So my question is- what amps would you pick? I've been searching previous posts in this regard and some have gone the way of monoblocks with the 2270 as a pre amp (which appeals to my wallet) to Mr.Levinsons' products which are out of the question ( I really don't wanna sell a kidney for my listening pleasure) What a predicament!!!LOL Any suggestions?

You need at least 250WPC to get those to open up. Look for either an Acurus A250 (used for about $300) or the likes.

200 watt Parsound, Rotel, Classe, Bryston, Aragon and others will get them to sing. You may also one day think of calling Richard Vandersteen and upgrade those to 3A status, you combine those with the 2q sub and its really a model Quatro less the bass EQ feature............the Quatro is a expensive and fantastic speaker! Cheers

A pair of Adcom GFA 555's biamped is a great choice.

Well, I've found one so far. Budget dictates a wait on the second. So I guess it's bi-wire for now. How about the pre-amp section? I've read about using the Marantz pre-amp.What I'd like to do is, run my 3s from the Adcom and some others from the Marantz outputs. I have some DCM tf400s, also a pair of JBL 80ts(recently refoamed). Are there any issues that I should be aware of? (other than the neighbor calling out the gendarmes.) Also, any recommendations for a turntable would be appreciated. Thanks again everyone! Cheers, Bob:music:
