Vector Research VR-7000 DOA :(

I recently bought a Vector Research VR-7000(65 watts) on eBay after owning a VR-5000(45 watts) which I have been extremely happy with. All lights come on but absolutely no sound. No relay click... no nothing. Seller swears it worked perfectly before shipping. I notice there is a protector light on the front of the receiver which stays on. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like a headache in the making. I'd cut my losses and send it back.

If it is not something really easy like a tape monitor switch or unshorted pre-out jacks send it back. Ebay will side with you.
