It's 20 min. from me..........planning on drooling on some things. Maybe some scraps to be bid on.

Nice selection and some bargains will be had, especially on the less desirable, but solid stuff.

Lots of stuff. Looks fun. Too bad some equipment is stacked up, like the turntables. I would be interested in looking at the print collection also.

I drove the hour and a half to go to this. What a zoo! A LOT of people showed up. The Mcintosh stuff sold for more than E bay prices -without even knowing if it worked- $450 for the C-24 and over 400 for the 250, and anything well known sold over price, a Nikko 815 sold for close to $100, the Sansui G-3000 went for $80 or $85, I did pick up a couple things, a nice looking KLH 20 for 10 bucks and 4 Dukane 100 watt solid state mono blocks for 10 bucks also, unfortunately some MF stole one before I got them to my car so I only have 3. They gave me the 10 bucks back so I got the 3 for free but still annoying! They said it happens pretty often! and to top it off, someone gave me my first "door ding" on my new truck! Does anyone have a power cord that would fit the KLH 20? doesn't look like it is going to be an easy find.....

Thanks for the update! That's a drag about the prices. Also sucks bigtime that someone stole your amp - didn't think it was possible to just slip a 100 watt mono block under your coat and walk out - but I guess somehow they did?! At least you came away with a couple of cool things for cheap so it wasn't a total loss...

I always wonder with these estate sales and auctions, what went into the trash during the week before the sale.

From what I understand, this was the trash from a different auction house. All the primo stuff was gone through and sold elsewhere. I was there too.

there was no security, while i was getting my vehicle someone just picked it up and walked out with it

I was there too...

My first auction, was rather fun and met some *interesting* folks...

I was the guy who got the Sansui G... paid $60 for it. Real nice condition. I also scored the Altec 602 - likely paid way too much for it.

The big score for me was what they call a "left lot". All the items from a given area within one big lot that didn't get any bids. Lots of stuff under the tables that were missed during the regular item auction. 2 University horn drivers, many shortwave's, cb's, etc... 2 or 3 nice receivers and several source units (3 nakamichi tape decks, several tuners, several tube chassis, etc...) I paid $100 for this "left lot". I sold off the two University drivers for about $150 total so far from it

I agree about security. There were so many people there, and no one was watching anything. They really should lock the door and check everything before people leave.

I asked about my "left lot" as most was unmarked, and they told me to start taking things out. That made me nervous...

To the guy who lost out on a Dukane - yes that sucks. There were a couple pieces missing from my left lot, that disappeared as I was making trips out to the car. I think you came up to me asking if I had it... didn't make it back with me.

I filled up so full, I had to leave behind several turntables, a bose acoustimass sub and a few unidentified units... My little VW bottomed out the whole ride home!

All-in-all a fun event. I missed out on several speakers I had my eyes on, especially a nice set of Lafayette Minuette bookshelf's that went for $5.00

It was definitely a madhouse! I also missed seeing a lot of what was there being that the room was so packed with people. It really sucks about the theft and lack of security.

Lemmy, you got the G-3000?

I always wonder with these estate sales and auctions, what went into the trash during the week before the sale.

A large woodworking supply company went under and there was an auction.
The next day I was there picking up some items I'd purchased. The guys who bought the book shelves from the office were dumping catalogs on the floor.
I took all of them. Things like Delta and Pwermatic going back into the 50's.
Sold them for around $500 by the time all was said and done.

Looks like a lot of that stuff could be on Antiques Roadshow ! Some nice looking furniture as well ! :thmbsp:
