Vintage Integrated Amps over 100WPC - continued

This list is the vintage integrated amps OVER 100 wpc, from 1970-1980. It is a short list, meant to hold the rarest and most powerful integrated amps of the era.

Its been a while since I updated this list. I began it back in 2005 and it will no longer let me update that original list, so I am beginning a new one. Here is the old thread
https://audiokarma.org/forums/index...complete-this-list-int-amps-over-100wpc.8273/

And let me just say, its been about 13 years since I last hunted for these and I am shocked at how the prices people are asking for them have skyrocketed. I guess the days when I can find a Kenwood 600 on craigslist for $150 are long gone.

15 years, when you added the Akai & Rotel, is more the " a while"

You began it 17 years ago back in 2003

This is not a new list, it looks like you copied & pasted the same list* you posted 17 years ago adding the Akai & Rotel which were posted 15 years ago.

While you can't edit or add to that initial 17 year old first post you can still post to the thread.

So why not just "bump"/resurrect that thread instead of creating a new one with the same info?

As I explained in the first post, I continued the list here in a new thread rather than bumping the old one because I want to be able to add to it as new components come to light. If I could have added the Akai and the Rotel to the old list I would have done so, and bumped in the process. But that was not an option.

Nice list. You did list the Akai AM-2950 twice, though.

Also - you capitalized OVER which means that 100 wpc amps like the Kenwood 500 don't qualify. But, if that is true, I don't think the NAD 200 should be on there either (100 wpc according to hifiengine). If you allow 100 wpc amps, the list will get bigger.

Ack you are right! Thanks for the catch.

Sherwood HP2000 120 wpc RMS. (1977-1978) The last integrated amplifier made at their Chicago plant.

Added the Sherwood, thanks for that one. I also sadly removed the NAD. It was indeed not over 100wpc. And yes, the SUV9 just misses the cutoff of 1980.

CA-1010
L-580
L-68a and probably others.

Really the good stuff ended with the flat face no knobs era about 1982 so I'd stretch that timeframe just a bit but the amps above meet that 1980 introduction date.

These are all nice amps but the first two are not over 100wpc. The L-68a appears to be 110wpc but was (from what I can tell) Japanese Domestic Market only. Still, I should include it, thanks.

Here are two more that I think qualify for your list:

Kenwood KA-801, 110 wpc
Rotel RA-2040, 120 wpc

And here is one that I have never seen, not even a picture, but that seems to qualify.

Wintec A-2160, 160 wpc

Wintec receivers are out there, but I've never seen one of their integrated amps, and maybe the A-2160 was a power amp. But this link says it was an integrated (http://www.dnaelectronics.ca/specs/wintec_a-2160.html). Maybe someone else can chime in.
