The original MC75 has four (4) small signal tubes while the 60th Anniv reissue MC75 only has three (3) small signal tubes. Does anyone know what the difference is based on? Why does the original have 4 while the reissue gets away with 3? Thanks.

Different design and tube characteristics. Original 75 had 12AX7 => 12AU7 => 12BH7 => 12AZ7 => (2) KT-88s or 6550s

New amp follows basic technology of re-issue 275s but without the 1/2 preamp unbalanced input; 12AX7 => (2) 12AT7s => (2) KT-88s
