Vintage Wharfedale

Hi,

I'm new here, from the Netherlands, my name is Oli.
I've got two pairs of Wharfedales the last two weeks:
the Denton 2XP and the Linton 3XP.
Does anybody have some manuals?


On https://www.wharfedale.co.uk/aboutus/ > early 80s you see a bigger Linton-like speaker.
What is the name?

How are you getting on with these? I'm still a bit on the fence with them.
I had them.paired with my NAD 3020a but think they required a bit more power so they seem to suit my marantz pm4001 ose

I had a pair of Dovedale 3s. The sound was sublime, but not powerful. There was just something about them that made them very pleasing, once your ears got used to them.

Cheers. I guess until you hear better were all quite content.
Did they have the awkward screw in neg/pos caps for the speaker cable?

I believe so. That was a few years ago, and early in my return journey to audio.

I think I'm going to have to to do my first bit of soldering. I don't suppose you know the name of the Little saddle clip type thing I'd need to solder to the soeaker cable . .. something like a hoop or 2 sided fork

Just found some y connectors. Looks like no need for soldering. Either crimp or screw like the banana plugs I've got. Result!
