Hi,
I was wondering if anyone converted one of these into a guitar amp?
How hard would it be for a beginner?
Thanks!

If its an amp for hi fi then you would most likely need to add another gain stage to make it useful for a guitar pick up.

Here's the Sams in pdf which can be enlarged.

If you have some sort of pedal(s) that provides boost it wouldn't hurt to just go through that and then into the stock amp using a 1/4" to RCA adaptor and see what it sounds like.

If you don't have an appropriate pedal, just try the adaptor and listen. It may be too clean - not much in the way of the normally desirable distortion.

Modifying the operating points on the 6AU6 would be the way to go if you want to make more permanent changes. It seems to be running at very low voltage and plate dissipation compared to what the data sheet allows.

Perhaps someone with more technical prowess will comment.

strapping an electrolytic cap across R9 will bump the gain too. 47uf / 25-50v would be appropriate.

That's really helpful,
