What album really blew your mind and still stands out....

Joe Bonamassa~You and me.

I had never heard of him and listen to a couple of tracks on the internet and then went and bought the CD. Awesome stuff!

A customer of mine told me about him, I listened to a couple of tracks off the internet, then bought every CD I could find the same day. I think this was before he had come out with You And Me. A New Day Yesterday, Live really kicks ass!

I should also mention Switched On Bach. Definitely blew my mind as a kid, and while don't pull it out much these days it amazes me every time I do.

So many albums have blew my mind but if I had to choose a few they would be during my high school years.

Nirvana - Nevermind (The first time I heard it I got chills, it was just so right)
Portishead - Dummy
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Stone Temple Pilots - Core and Purple
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Blind Melon - Self-Titled
Metallica - Black Album
Big Wreck - In Loving Memory
Depeche Mode - Violator

The Pretenders, 1979.

Talking Heads' "Remain In Light" was a big one for me in my teens. With headphones on, I submerged into the depths and textures of that one, many a time.

This was the album that broke me out of my "Grateful Dead" spell. Thankfully. It opened up a whole world of music I had been unwilling to appreciate.

lol... I had some biker friends that were heavily into the Dead, Zepplin, and Southern Rock. I was too... sorta. I came home with The Pretenders and the B-52s. They looked at me, shooked their heads and gave me endless crap. A week later one of the guys in a low voice confided in me and said..."hey this is some good ****."

:D
