Yeah, more thrifting stuff from today. A book of 78s. I saw a like-new 4-speed turntable for practically nothing recently and got it to play some 16 rpm Seeburg records that a friend gave me a few years ago. Here's the other end of the speed spectrum. ( @KevinJS recently posted a 78 he has.) This speed is all new to me. I had to look up one of the records to make sure what they are. It's a bit scary dropping the needle onto the speeding surface, but it all works. I've played several. The one shown above is even on Youtube.

If it doesn't mention electronic and/or radio on the label then only use steel needles.
I'm no expert but do your research. IINM a diamond needle will kill shellac records.
AFAIK acoustically recorded records (pre-1930 or so) need steel needles, 1 per side.
Anyone with the correct 411 please chip in here.

The only way to listen to Dime.

Tuned into her kinda late.. Dismissed her as one of those crappy artists.. Boy, was I wrong.
been in to her since the first album "frank" dropped in 2003, i couldn't believe all the crap the papers ran about her,was a witch hunt, once they latch on they don't like letting go,especially the uk press, they love sticking the boot in on anyone who becomes successful.i saw her performance at glastonbury on tv although i can't remember what year and knew she was in trouble, tragic.

I was sick one day and home from work. Came across that bio Amy on Prime or something.. watched it because I was bored. Loved her instantly.
