We take crab very seriously in the Free State :)

It’s one of if not the only subject in life on which I maybe am probably a snob. I refuse to order crab cakes any more outside the state. I’m not joking :rflmao: :rflmao: Too many disappointments and downright offenses!

Top 3 crabcakes:

1) my moms
2) faidleys
3)deviled crab cakes 1x a year at a church supper following a ring jousting tournament in southern MD. Going on 160 years. I used to hang rings for the blisters as a kid.

Edit:

I saw that Venice, Italy lagoon is having problems with blue crabs as they are invasive there and kicking the ass out of the local species

Several proposals have been floated but I wonder why no one has sent a group of Marylanders over with a barrel of old bay.

We’ll show them how to make them so delicious that they hunt them to near extinction in no time, just like we did here lol!!
The only way to get great crabcakes.....make your own! I made them for my parents on year during lent.....my dad said was the best they ever had....

Personally, I wouldn't eat anything out of the Venice Lagoon.
