I went the budget route myself. A TOPPING DAC, And a WiiM streamer and/Or the old Mac with a couple thousand tunes. All the way back to the Napster days lolI've been listening to files for years, yeah if someone else pays, sounds good.
My setup for streaming is super simple. Files collection lives on a cheap used laptop $100. It does nothing else but store the files & playback, everything else basically stripped back. Outputs to a $100 Shiit DAC then to my preamp.
I used to know a girl i worked with who liked me a whole lot but,she liked Cornell better,My wife had a thing for Chris Cornell R.I.P.

Have to admit, I only knew because of the Rush links.I was glad you asked.I didn't know what that was either. Not my wheelhouse.
First time I’ve seen your rig I think. Very nice and tidyGood morning all. I’m making my bi-annual trip to the “Blood Sucker” this morning so, NO COFFEE!!!
Cleaned up the Man Room the other day and made a trip to the transfer station. I had so much crap I accumulated over the last 18 years here. Now, keeping it simple.
Before I get stuck, I will be listening to…
Blue Oyster Cult
“Workshop of the Telescopes” Disc two
More Cowbell!!!
Wow! That's great detective work.Thanks.Have to admit, I only knew because of the Rush links.
Besides the obvious one that a search for Rush (the band) inevitably includes that album, there's this one:
I came across this song years ago, performed by a gang of French kids. I knew nothing about it except that it was probably a cover version since that's mainly what those kids did.
Then, I found what I thought was the original, performed by the young lady who did the female vocals in Time Stand Still. All appeared to be solved.
Until someone informed me that her version was also a cover and that the original was a Coldplay composition:
It happens. I flip the script as much as I can when the opportunity arises lolI used to know a girl i worked with who liked me a whole lot but,she liked Cornell better,![]()

My comments watching for example MODERN FAMILY caused some discussion lol. That can be hazardous to your health.![]()
No problem. I find these links to be interesting. The French kids sat in the middle of another grouping which went over my head at the time. They did a French song called "si seulement je pouvais lui manquer", a cover of a Belgian called Calogero. An unknown girl did a cover of their version and posted it on YT. She was about 10 and her name was Sabrina Carpenter.Wow! That's great detective work.Thanks.![]()
who knew Christopher Walken could dance like that!
