I limited myself to only picking up models that were proven perfomers...Dynaco 25's
I feel the old Dynaco A25's are under-appreciated by many. I will never forget when I was still in high school the chorus instructor had a professional recording engineer come and record the chorus singing multiple songs on the engineer's Revox reel to reel using Shure bros. mics. I was there during the recording and it was played back immediately afterward through the school's Marantz amp and Dynaco A25's. It was a religious experience. You could close your eyes and your mind was telling you the chorus was standing right there in front of you singling live. I've never heard sound reproduction that accurate, that clear, and authentically life-like as that one was. Nothing was added, nothing was taken away. It was 100% identical to the live performance.
