What are your top three favorite pieces of vinyl?

When you say favorite, I assume you mean most frequently played.

Poco - Legend
Relayer - Relayer
Boston - Boston

Once I go thru my collection, the list will probably change.

Leonard Nimoy - Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy
I recall going to the Ann & Hope department store in Warwick, RI as a kid when that record was out in green vinyl and Nimoy was in house autographing copies. It ranks right up there with Shatner's best album, by the way.

Dreams So Real - Gary Burton Quintet

Bop Til You Drop - Ry Cooder

After Bathing At Baxters - Jefferson Airplane (great performance, muddy recording, but I know when it sounds best)

Runner-up:
Also Sprach Zarathustra: Richard Strauss, Herbert von Karajan / Vienna Philharmonic, English Decca FF/FR LP.

Mom he's cheating! Baxter's is a double album. That 4 pieces of vinyl.
(It does give a lot to ponder though)

Left Banke- Pretty Ballerina/Walk Away Renee
Donovan- Open Road
Doors - Hard Rock Cafe/Morrison Hotel

I never get tired of albums of sing along stuff.

Lefte Banke - I haven't heard of them in a LONG time. My mom worked at Mercury records in Richmond, IN when I was growing up and would bring records home all of the time. I think that was one - either that or my older brother bought it. Man I wish I still had all of that stuff.

my #1 is 'who's next'.

anything and everything else is 2nd and 3rd...

and 4th, 5th, and so on down the line...:music:

Hmmm, let's see;
Yes, Close to the Edge
Allman Bros. Band, Live at the Filmore East
and lately,
Nick Drake, Five Leaves Left

Rick Wakeman / Six Wives
King Crimson / Court Of The Crimson King
Jimi Hendrix/ Electric Ladyland UK - if that's a "hits" album, then:
Floyd / Atom Heart Mother

Joy Division / Unknown Pleasures
Ellington, Mingus, Roach / Money Jungle
Steve Reich / Music for 18 Musicians

Well, these types of lists are frequent fliers on AK...top 5, top 3, top 1, etc. Just to be different, I thought I'd pick the three most outrageous albums that I have. And only partially tongue-in-cheek, because I really would never part with them.

Two Sides of Leonard Nimoy is on Dot Records and has one side of the LP with him singing "Spock-ish" tunes, the other singing folk songs. It's quite horrible, but great fun if you get a kick out of things so bad that they're good.

That's hilarious! I looked the album up and thought it was some kind of comedy or him doing monologues.

Since I love independent bands and a huge portion of my record collection is new records purchased from many unknown bands.

My 3 favorites as of now--

1. Somebody Still Loves You Boris Yeltson- "Pershing"
2. Starflyer 59- "Gold"
3. Pedro The Lion- "Control"
