What do I get my wife for Christmas?!?!?!

Here I am again! The 19th of Dec. and I have no idea what to get my wife for Christmas! She's the best wife in the world and I'd love to do something nice for her. Her birthday was last month and I took the kind of easy way out and got her an appointment at a day spa. She likes that, but I need to come up with something else for Christmas and I can't think of a thing!

Cash is tight this time of year, but something in the $100 range would be about right. What did you guys do this year? If you have any ideas, or just have a great gift idea for anyone, post away! I can't be the only one in this fix!

Take care,

Ed

I bought my wife B&W speakers one year. I would advise against that. The Tivoli Model One radio for bathroom listening was a hit last year. I also built a shelf to put it on as an added bonus.

You cannot go wrong with jewelery. For $100, Swiss watches and diamonds are out, but $100.00 can buy nice silver, jade, turquoise. My wife loves silver and turquoise.

Good luck and why are you starting shopping for your wife so early?

Ken

This always works for me.

Hand selected Godiva Truffles. Select from the display the ones you think she would like rather than getting a pre-packaged box. My wife loves it because it shows that I'm taking the time to think about her and what she likes. I can usually get out of the store for around $30.00.

I'm thinking you are not the only one paying close attention to this thread.:scratch2:

How do you go about getting it? Go into VC and point?

You ask a good looking sales professional to model them, just don't get caught in the process ;)

Ok bad idea...:D

Try SWAROVSKI crystal (www.swarovski.com), they have a large selection of "dust collectors" available. My wife just loves the stuff. This way you can still say you got the missus something "see thru" :)

If she likes music but doen't understand your hobby: Sony "Ipod" clone, 2gb ~120

Does she cook/bake? Cookbooks in her style

Jewlery - semi prescious artn't too expensive.

Digital camera - decent ones are available for around 100

Think about things she likes but would never buy for herself

DON'T buy her stereos unless she likes em, power tools unless she is a wood worker or auto mechanic, and guns unless she is a hunter... :D

What does your wife like to do in her spare time? Read, workout, watch movies, listen to music, visit with friends at Starbucks, ride a bicycle, ...???

If you think about what she likes to do, I'm sure you'll be able to come up with something that she'd enjoy. It's always better if it shows some thought.

A nice necklace is almost always a good idea...something unconventional like from a vintage or and estate jewelry shop.

I learned a looong time ago after "Wrong color.... wrong size..... I do not like it.... etc. etc. …" That a NICE card and old fashioned $$$$$$$$$ so she could get what SHE wanted worked.... If $$$$$$$$$$ is too impersonal for ya' then a gift card at some place she likes to shop at...

What does she like? Lladro porcelain figureines used to be a hit, but now my wife is into vintage books, meaning original leather bound copies of the classics (Dickens, Austen, Wuthering Heights, Pride n' Prejudice, etc).

A new car always works. But that might not fit in your budget.

How about a nice workout outfit. Something from Nike or Adidas. Even if she doesn't workout she will still look stylish grocery shopping on Saturday morning.
