What do you guys and gals put on your Klipschs to keep em looking good?

ambitious but rubbish
I have a new pair of KG 4.2 OILED WALNUT. They are a bit dull at this point.. just wondering what you have found works best with this?

I have a can of Howards restore a finish and a bottle of feed n wax.

When we bought out first Country Coach, 20 years ago with an All Walnut interior, they recommended Panel Magic. It worked so well on the Class A motor home interior finish I decided to use it on my walnut speakers. I still use Old english to touch up nicks and unavoidable scratches that happen .

Watco Danish Oil in natural color and not Dark. The '78 Klipschorns I bought years ago from the original owner came with a 1 gallon can of the Watco Dark Walnut Danish Oil that he said the dealer recommended. I've used Watco on many types of wood finish with great results.

Feed and wax will work fine. Danish oil is a good choice, but a bit more difficult to work with- you will want to be in a well ventilated area. Tung oil would be ok, but it should be thinned, assuming you can get pure tung oil. A modified tung oil isn't much different than Danish oil, which has tung oil in it.

Whatever you choose make sure you hang your rags up to dry, preferably outside. Oily rags can combust if not properly taken care of.

Restore a Finish if applied to dry wood will make scratches stand out, messes up the patina in my experience, and it highlights the pores. You can remedy this by rubbing light coat of lemon oil and wiping off a few mins later, apply 2cd or 3rd lemon oil coats if necessary. Then follow up with the Resore a finish a few days later, you may find that the lemon oil alone does a good enough job and not worry about the stain highlighting defects. I use Formbys lemon oil, it is more expensive but thicker and a little goes along way (can do a receiver with about 1/4 teaspoon). I always clean crude off with murphy wood cleaner (in spray bottle at home depot) until rags are clean before applying anything else, sometimes take 3 or 4 cleanings depending on how neglected they were when I found em.

But no mater what you decide to use, turn the speaker upside down and try on the bottom first. I basically would do sections 4 diff ways (one with just oil, one with restore a finish, one with oil then restore a finish, etc) and let em dry a day then proceed with the rest of the speaker the following day. I learned my lesson after I jumped feet first with restore a finish and ruined a pair of ADS 15 years ago (took sanding and way too much work to get it looking right). Use the natural (non tinted), or the rejuvinator if you must.

I didn't think these needed any sort of staining and there were no real scratches so I just slopped on some feed-n-wax. Came out beautiful, before I did it there was no sheen at all and I didn't see any figuring in the wood, then pop it all came out! Amazing stuff.

Great to hear. You may find that another application will be necessary over the next few days.

I have never put anything on my La Scallas I bought new in 82? I do put a dust cover over them when not in use.

I own some Oiled Oak Belles from the early '80s. I've only used Old English Lemon Oil (light stuff) with fine results. I'm certain I don't oil them enough, once a year perhaps.

I have a Some Epic CF-3s and a pair of KG 1.5s in black finish.
The cabinets on the Epics are a tad dull and dirty, and definitely in need of attention.
What's the best to use on them?

So long as they're actually wood/veneered speakers, Howard's Feed n' Wax would be fine.
