what glue is good to glue between the surround and the diaphragm of the speaker?

Hey people,



What glue is the best to glue between surround and the diaphragm of the cone like in attached picture above (the small piece)? And what do you think, if it will be better if I'll change this rubber surrounds to the new one? and what glue should I use in this case?

I saw some video in YouTube the guy glue the surround with diaphragm with nail polish. what do you think?

Rick Cobb, who is a member of AK and sells mainly the foam surrounds, also sells little plastic bottles of almost-magic glue for the job. Works great and you don't need to use much. As my dad used to say, that stuff sticks like **** to an army blanket!

Is this your actual driver? If so, that crack running thru the surround means it needs to be replaced. Oh, and I'll second the Aleene's.

Down here, where budget is always an issue, you wouldn't replace the whole surround because of that tiny crack (if the rubber is still flexible and in good shape)

I use the multipurpose UHU ("The All Purpose adhesive", no affiliation) or similar tacky glues. It adheres to almost everything, adheres pretty well to rubber and poly cones, it could even serve to repair the crack from the back of the surround with a bead of glue behind it.

Another way to repair cracks in surrounds is to use a bead of "liquid electrical tape" from the back. It cures as a black rubber and stays flexible.
