What is this part?

Hey Everyone…This component is the first thing inline with the 12 volt lead from the transformer on a Yamaha tuner. At the transformer it’s about 13.5 volts which is the input voltage on the piece in question but coming out of it I’m only getting.5 volts. Is this piece basically a resistor?

Thanks

Use a flame proof , I think 1/2 watt would be fine of the same resistance value .

Can someone give me the color code for this resistor. When I type in the 4ohm K it only gives me info on a 4K ohm resistor which isn’t the same.

fair guess if its 13.5v in and 0.5v out, its not going to read correctly on the meter. The fuse probably opened.

so now the question is did the fuse open because these things are a bit crap, or did the fuse open because it needed to?

That's your standard JAN Fluxious Capacitorius. J/K, it is a micro fuse with the specifications written on it. It is also one of the items I learned last of as well.... Or a resistor??? WTF?

The Tuner is the Yamaha CT-600 and the resistor is the first inline from the transformer, and I'm pretty sure it opened when I let one of the 12v wire leads for the meter light come in contact with the chassis.
