What is your FAVORITE Aerosmith album?

^^^ PS: Between 1972, the first time I saw/heard them perform live, and circa 1976, there was not a voicalist working on this planet who was better @ singin' this kinda music than Tyler. There were of course other vocalists who were pretty interesting to hear up close and live -- Plant, Halford and Mercury most notably ... plus a (very) few others. Yeah, Tyler held a prominent place among the ranks of the most-gifted vocalists ever. His voice, as we all know, didn't last, and even during the band's comeback @ circa '87, with the release of Permanent Vacation and the return to the stage SOBER, Steverino never would again sound like he did early to mid 1970s. Mercury - who knows, he died young; Halford's voice went on to become (as if this were even possible) still more interesting over the ensuing decades.
Best opening act I ever saw and I've seen a few. The band was tight, hungry and when they took the stage were there to make a statement. They blew the headliner out of the building,in fact Ian Hunter fired them mid tour because he couldn't follow that band on stage.(Santa Monica Civic 73 or 74)

Good memories. IIRC, Queen opened for MTH @ '73 and Aerosmith opened for 'em in '74 in Chicago.

Well whichever, if any, of the band's LPs is the best, we all probably wish we'd written this number:

Regardless of the hundreds -- if not more -- of times I've heard it, it's still one effin' good musical composition ... sung to perfection.

I saw Queen in 73,same venue and I wasn't impressed. They didn't have it that night. They were the headliner tho.

Not to go off the rails @ this thread but I read ya on Queen: gave 'em three shots, none of which landed.

Song was a bust when 1st released but on the sales of Get Your Wings it was re released and the rest is history.
1st time Aerosmith was the headliner was in Boston? when Cactus couldn't make the show because of snow.

Aerosmith first sang Dream On at the Shaboo a few miles from me. Steven had just written it. Wish the old lady was a member her, she is the biggest Aerosmith fan alive. You should see her collection OMG

I think Get Your Wings was the best. It feels like it's from the gut. It's the only one I'll ever play again. I bought Toys when it came out and was disappointed.

Definitely would be "Rocks"! ;)

First heard it in '73, love @ first listen. From a lyrical standpoint, it remains a -- if not the -- high mark of Tyler's career. It is the only Aerosmith number I can (barely) imagine Sartre being able to endure.

A long time ago I worked at a psych hospital doing overnights. For a very short time, the lead singer for an Aerosmith tribute band worked there too. He was an all around great person to know. The dude really did look like a young Steven Tyler. Now, I've been to a couple of Aerosmith concerts, one being a monsters of rock thing, and both times at the old (Patriots) Sullivan Stadium. I also saw Neil's band "Draw the Line" at a local nightclub. It may not have been the real "Aerosmith" but it was a great show. I had way more fun at that small venue than the big stadium. I just checked the net and I can't believe after all these years that they're still playing. If you're in the New England, I'm thinking it would be a fun night out. I see tickets are $20 and $25 at the door.

Gawd I'm getting old. I remember trying to figure out what song "Dream On" was and who did it.
Bought each "New" LP as the came out starting with the first.
Loved "Rocks"....but that came out the same time as AC/DC High Voltage.
I sort of found a new band Aerosmith slid.

Funny, I consider the first 5 LPs by Aerosmith and AC/DC as some of the best of each.
