I've had the MS23B on the sideline for about a year I guess....not for reasons other than bringing a Pro-Ject Tube Box S on for a while and also an Encore DL 2010.2 pre w/tube phono card online for their due in the rotation. Recently put a Rotel RC 1070 pre back in the rotation for the convenience of the remote. Supposedly well regarded phono stage (for what it is)...........But I found it a bit edgy and harsh through a Vpi Scout with Sumiko BlackBird Hi.

Well.....I put the MS23B back in to hopefully tame the phono front end. I was not disappointed!! That little sucker (stock) really has a nice rounded sound. currently running some Ruby Tubes and it sounds terrific. I don't even recall where I came about having the Ruby's...might have been included when I bought the Tube Box S, which was a BarterTown purchase.

Funny thing the Tube Box S now resides in a friend's system. But that's alright I have a Yamaha MX-1 from that friend residing in my system doing the upper frequnecy duties in my bi-amped current config. This is a great hobby :)

Hmmmmmmm. Now i am wondering just what tubes were in the Tube Box S when I first let it out because the end recipient isn't the one who first got it.

Oh well. No worries. I'll just pour another Jim Beam and finish sides 3 and 4 of the Dead album on the table. :banana:
