What TV series irritated you the most when it was dropped?

The 2000 version of “The Fugitive” with Tim Daly.

Spoiler alert:
In the last few minutes of the final episode of the only season, an FBI agent unexpectedly killed the agent pursuing Richard Kimble, then shot Richard Kimble himself. It was a true “WTF” moment. It was like a big “F you” to the show’s fans.

Rubicon. Lasted one season,I liked it.
Same here....I had great expectations for that show.

Another one, for me, was "The Riches" (Eddy Izzard and Minnie Driver). A family of "Irish Travellers" (con artists & thieves), the Malloys travel around the country in an old RV, looking for scores, and get involved in an accident with a new BMW, which runs off the rural back road they`re on, killing the two occupants (the Riches). The Malloys decide to take the IDs, and assume the lives of the Riches.

The show lasted for around 20 episodes, I heard there was a salary dispute which led to the show`s demise. Too bad....

Police Squad. Only 6 episodes to the series.

Firefly

WKRP in Cincinatti. I remember CBS kept moving it around in the latter seasons - got to where I did not know when it was on. Expect I was not alone. That usually means someone high up wanted it gone.

Rubicon. Lasted one season,I liked it.
Loved it - political intrigue, conspiracy thriller stuff.
Loved the theme song too (so many shows now have really crappy theme music).

Boss i kinda wanted to see another season. after that ended after 2 seasons i never really watched any more series unless they ran for 3 seasons then i binged watched them. there were a couple more around that time that ended after a season or 2 with no wrap up and i just got tired of investing the time and being left cold.

Jericho TV series.

Really super liked season # 1 (the mystery .. what happens to a small town when all communication are cut from the outside world) .. then the suits canceled it on a cliffhanger. Public outrage followed and wizards of smart brought back an abbreviated rushed 2nd season that was not even close to being as good as the 1st season IMHO. Just to finish the series off and say Foxtrot Uniform to fans of Jericho.

They also cancelled another series (after one season) I was following at the time. This (2006) was the final year that I watched any network prime time television at all. Since then I only have watched network TV shows (that end up being streamed) or on DVD from Library.

Back in the day .. they use to stick with shows long enough to gain an audience .. now they go for hit or miss mentality out of the gate.

I'm kinda glad that someone else came here to cover that show. I often feel like I was the only one watching it. I don't have bad vibes about the wrap-up; so many times networks would just ignore fan input and not bother with an encore. At least they "tried".

Firefly gets a lot of love.... I never saw the original run. Caught up with it by catching the Serenity movie in theater (friend was a big fan, drags me to all sorts of stuff). And then I was hooked. Lately, have been watching the Blu-Ray while I touch up my AV setup.

So... original take for the thread? I was definitely ticked when Max Headroom didn't make it back on ABC. It was dark, humorous, 20 minutes into the future. And a decent cast. W. Morgan Sheppard, RIP.

I don`t watch any outside sourced TV, since 2010, but my long time friend loaned me a BR disc set`s of season`s 1~3(I think ?) of a network series called "Person of Interest" around 6 yrs ago, and I really liked it a lot.
Is it still on the air ?
I`ll just get the whole series DVD off Amazon..

Ok..I'll go there. Firefly..

I'd imagine that Firefly, if it hasn't already, will receive numerous citations. It ranks high on my list of ****ed-over by the programming execs television serials. I am fortunate in that I was able to collect all, including the un-aired, episodes and thus have the "full" first season. A not so close second is Space: Above And Beyond.

Then Came Bronson (1969)

By today's standards it was a very slow-moving drama. But as a teenager, I was captivated by a guy quitting his job and just roaming around on a cool motorcycle.

Cheers,

TCB - My brother's favorite program ever. For me it was so-so ... no particular reason ... but nonetheless I, w/ my bro', watched it weekly.

For me it was "Cincinnati In Chicago".

I really liked the stories, the characters and the varied events that was shared.

Not only were there a lot of people who wanted it back on the tube, the cast did so as well. I think they were about to do something about it as a group, but it fell through.

When asked why this series was suddenly and without warning dropped, even though the ratings were good...little was said why.

Is there another TV series that you thought should have been continued...but it was not?

Q

re: Cincinnati In Chicago, I could not recall having even heard of it until this thread. Having grown up in Chicago -- not in a suburb but in The City -- this surprised me, so I looked it up @ DDG but found nothing @ the web re: this program.

Anyone reading this know of a link where I can read bout the program, else describe the premise for me @ this thread?

Was wondering about that myself. Could not find anything on "Cincinnati In Chicago" either.
