What was the last movie you watched?

Funny Face
(Edens, 1957)

* A pure delight. Almost cannot think of a single scene I would change... that's almost, 'cuz there is one:

Scene set @ "underground cafe" @ which Hepburn and a couple of garçons get into a bit of, as Danny Kaye would'a put it re: the film White Christmas, "choreography". I'd have found a way to fit Astaire into that scene, @ least near the finale. Probably jus' me, but I'd have loved to see a genuine hoofer, one who was minted @ the Golden Age of Hollywood Musicals, put that beatnick material through some changes.

With Astaire and Hepburn on screen, it's easy to look past some of the other performers and their characterizations, Kay Thompson (as Maggie Prescott) in particular. And some excellent numbers, of course leading the pack the wonderful "How Long Has This Been Going On?"

Kay as "Maggie"...

I watched the first few episodes of Stranger Things a while back, decided to finish it off before my Netflix subscription runs out.

I don't know, but it went downhill for me with each episode and ended up more like a Jurassic Park gore fest.

IMHO

Watched Passengers again - on Bluray disc. Watched with a friend that had never seen it before, and she really enjoyed it. I always like seeing different ideas of what the future will be like. I'd be one of the first people in line to get on a ship that would travel for 120 years while I'm in hypersleep. The world has changed so much in my life - half of the length of that trip - that it would be amazing to see what it would be like after 120 years.

Started the Lost in Space series on Netflix. If it rained rocks, wouldn't a planet be covered in nothing but rocks ?

2 1/2 episodes in and meh. Changed to many roles, doesn't even resemble the original (names only)

Umm, you do realize you wouldn't see how the world changed since you would be millions of miles away on a different planet? Provided you didn't wake up and then die on the journey.

"Cut Bank" (2015)
This is one of those "small films" that often flies under the radar for most of the general public. It takes place in the tiny burg of Cut Bank, Montana ("The Coldest Place In The US"), where a young couple dreams of escaping the boring existence they must endure. After accidentally witnessing and filming an apparent murder, the young man decides to use his video to claim a big reward. But, all is not what it seems, and there are many twists and turns before him. There`s a great cast at work here, with Liam Hemsworth and Teresa Palmer as the couple, and John Malkovich, Billy Bob Thornton, and Bruce Dern in strong supporting roles. Definitely worth watching.

Enjoyed this movie. Worth checking out, but not for everyone.
