What's a good PC to stereo interface?

Those two look very nice indeed, are there any that also do surround sound and have an optical digital output? I know plenty of soundcards have them but I question their quality... I had an Audigy ZS 2 that developed popping noises, my Asus Xonar DG died awhile back and the replacement went haywire today, it still works but I can no longer go into the menu to change settings.

The Aune T-1 tube DAC is great, love mine and you can roll the tubes although the EH that comes with it is very good.

You would love this DAC

Has all the connections you can possibly desire. AUNE has become a serious name in DAC's without breaking the bank

UCA202 works for me.

Any external USB DAC (Digital-to-Analog Converter) is better, practical, reliable and easy to use than PC soundcards, in my opinion...

The Behringer UCA202 is a little champion over here and might cost less than a CD now.

The Behringer UCA202 works for me, I use it with Audacity for dubbing RR tapes to CD on a laptop.

The consensus seems to be that an external USB DAC is the way to go. I'm in agreement with this. They are available from ~$35 to "Are you serious?". Only you can decide how much to spend.
