What's the buzz all about?

Most common reasons to hear the buzz thru the speakers?
Most common cures?

I get a buzz through the speakers whether it's the two sets of Bose 901's or thru the Klipsch La Scalas. It doesn't matter if I am using the NAD 2200 or the 2400 amp. Pre-amp is NAD1130.

Also will get a pop when turning off the system.

Do you turn it off in the proper sequence and give the amps time to discharge before the other gear is powered down?

Buzz is electrical issues. Swapping and moving and reconnecting and such can sometimes find it. Make sure there are not signal wires near power wires and if they must cross, 90°.

Bad connection cable or a defective AC 3 pronged plug as a first guess.

Proper sequence? I have two components normally. The pre amp and the amp. Which one first off and then how long before the second off?

Pre amp on 1st then amp. When turning off, reverse the procedure - amp off 1st then pre.
