When the hobby becomes an addiction and all about the $$$.

I was actually commenting on the people that worry about how much other people spend. But yeah, that too.
I don't care about what people spend. Even Jay. But when a person puts themselves into the public eye, and uses what they spend as a focal point of their discussions, it becomes fair game to comment on, IMO. Anyone who has been on the internet for more than five minutes knows that criticism comes along with praise regarding comments. You are doing this too by criticizing people for caring bout what Jay spends his money on. I could say "Why do some people care about other people caring about what a person spends on what?" A main component of forums, video hosting sites etc. is commenting which includes critical comments. This is just the way it works unless a site is heavily censored which usually makes a site boring and unpopular in the long term.

Oh I "care" about most of the whining about trivial matters on the internet, it achieves nothing. One of my grandfathers was always overly concerned about what the neighbors were doing once he retired, now we have the internet.

We all are guilty, I just bitch about the bitchers ;)

Better, but I hate that he's dumping on the V3 here. It's a great little amp, if all one needs is an amp, without any additional "stuff".
I didn't take him dumping on the V3 as much as him pointing out the value of buying one without considering all the ancillary items needed to make it function well. I think he does say at the end it can be a good option if one has the gear to complete it. Buying the V3 is the same as buying just an amp and then finding out you need a pre-amp, source etc. to make it functional which makes its bargain price not so much of a bargain.

I have found that in my life criticism has been much more constructive to achieving goals than receiving praise. Today, praise is given out like candy at a parade, whether it is deserved or not, and is used as a salve to excuse lack of performance.

If I have proven to be good at anything in this life it is coaching, mentoring and leading young people. I was always given the "problem Kids" when I was in the Navy and used both equally, together, often in the same sentence.
