Where to buy refoam kits?

Don't waste your $$$$

You don't need a kit. Go to MAT electronics site and get your foam cheap. The only down side is that you'll need a certain minimum order. I'm sure if you look, you'll see something to round out your order. I usually just buy foam in bulk to reduce the number of times I have to pay postage......

The only other thing you'll really need is some glue. I usuually use "Tacky Glue" available at your local Wally World....:thmbsp:

For instructions do a search in this forum on "refoam"....

Good Luck!...

I just used The Speaker Exchange (speakerex.com) for my RtR's. Cathy and Randall were extremely helpful and the parts they sent were first rate. I can recommend them without any reservation, plus they are an AK sponsor!

Like the addict says, 8" matelectronics foam for .99 each fits EPI 8" woofers. Surely you can find $25 worth of miscellaneous crap you didn't know you needed?

Also see post #10 of this thread for a well informed recommendation: http://www.audiokarma.org/forums/showthread.php?t=177772&highlight=ReEdger&page=2

I was about to recommend AK member ReEdger but it appears that he is no longer a member. I was not aware of that until I read that thread. He was very helpful to me in the past. Based on Fast Eddie's recommendation and since I prefer to support businesses and individuals that contribute to and support AK, I will contact AK member GordonW for my future needs. There are a lot of good sources and suppliers out there. The extra help and guidance that I have received from AK members means a lot to me. That extra added value has earned my repeat business.

I've used Mat and know that the AKers are good sources, as well as the sponsors. But since you are on the left coast, well a bit further really, look at Mainelectronics.com. They have the same minimum order and a different amount of stuff to look through to get stuff you did know you needed. They are in Vancouver, BC and did a fine job with my order which included some special-sized surrounds for my Marantz Imperial 7s and Blaupunkt car plates. Could not find em anywhere else and Main shows the inner and outer dimensions of their surrounds on the web site.
