Where to get Dynaco PAS volume control knob set screw?

The set screw in a volume control knob of my Dynaco PAS3 got broken. That long one which is screwed in the volume knob and used for securing the knob onto the shaft.

Where can I get a replacement one?

If you have an older hardware store close by ask them. The Ace Hardware model so many are using now does away with much of the small odd items like that. Ive found them at my local hardware store before, but then its been here forever so there is a lot of dusty little bins to go through.
 
hardware store, but it will probably be an allen key vs a slotted screw. Guessing at it, 6-32 or 8-32 seems likely, probably 3/8" long
 
I just make em if one gets lost,,, put a nut on a proper size bolt,,, cut a driver slot in the threaded end of the bolt (Dremel, Foredom, or hacksaw works fine), cut the bolt to length and back the nut off it to clean the threads...
 
I got so e from my local fastener supplier, valley wide fasteners, but not every town has a store which will sell you 2 obscure oddball set screws for a grand total of 53 cents...
 
I pulled the volume knob off an old PAT-4 I have here. The knobs appear to be identical to the earlier PAS units. I measured the set screw and got .122" across the threads, which would make it a #5 machine screw. I don't have any imperial thread gauges here, but it looks very close to .5mm pitch, which close to 44 TPI. So I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like a #5-44 set screw, by about 3/8" long.

Paul (Lavane) was very generous and sent me a spare screw from a Dynaco FM3 tuner. It's same size as the PAS3 broken one and fits perfectly.
