Who has Vintage Marantz Amps/Receivers?

uscfchess,

I believe it was the model 112.Been hunting down one but no success so far this side
of the planet.
Seems they're pretty rrare over these here parts.
But I'm still hopeful.

Here's my 2235b, actually put it up for sale on Craigslist for a few days because I wanted a new pre amp. Realized how much I enjoyed it and decided to keep it. Going to install some LEDs and have the case refinished.

I have a minty restored 2240B that I bought in 2008 for my bedroom system. It's driving a flawless pair of oak Infinity RSe speakers with a Rotel RCD-855 CDP as the lone source.

Im running a 2238B with my Dual TT and Rega Camber speakers. Sunday, I gave my young cousin a 2216 with a pair of KLH 17s for his college graduation. Oh yea, the Dahlquist bookshelves for the Imac is fed from a SR 62.

Here is my current Marantz 3200, 140, 112 setup to answer the question posed by uscfchess... sorry for sneaking the Playstation and the Qinpu tube amp in there. :D

The 112 is the matching tuner, though there might be another one. It also has the right bolt design not those small rivet like ones.

The tuner is the same depth as the power amp, so greater than the pre.

I have a restored model 250 amp and restored model 24 pre-amp/tuner. It is a sweet sounding combo and makes my big JBL's come alive!:thmbsp::music:

hello all, I'm new to the audio karma forum and had a few questions concerning a marantz amp. I'm sure I'm in the wrong thread for this but hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I have a marantz 2275 receiver hooked up to pioneer pl 71 turntable with sansui sp 1000 speakers. A friend of mine is offering me his MARANTZ 170DC amp. Please forgive me but I'm new to the game. what will this do to my current stereo setup and do I really need it? I have no idea what these amps are for and what they are supposed to do...

Here's mine

Bought my first Marantz new when I was 16 or so, 2215b...still working and in use at brothers garage.

Here is the only one I have now:

Same one in context:

Your 2275 receiver is a pre-amp, amp, and tuner built into one chassis. The 170DC is a stand alone amp only, a separate. It is meant to be used with a separate pre-amp and tuner. It's a very nice amp, but has comparable power output to what you already have. It is just barely more modern in electronic design, by about 2 years or so. You don't need it, and it would not offer any additional functionality. How much does your friend want for it?

thanks for the info marantz head. I posted this back in the general audio area as well, due to being a newbie. I was thinking about taking him up on the offer. he's wanting around 400.00 for it. Sounds a little steep considering it won't do too much to my current setup

I currently have a 2230 as my main system, a 2265B running as my garage system and a 2252 being recapped by Jailtime.

However, I recently met a very nice older gentleman who decided to sell me a 2216, a 2220B, a 2235 and a 2226B for a good price. I passed on the 2230 with the photo-etched face due to other face damage.

So, yeah. I have too many. But they are sooo cool.

First bought a 2252b last month and was impressed with the sound, bought a 2385 then got a 2285 off ebay last week.

I have two 2275's and one 170DC, and in my opinion, the DC really wouldn't be worth the trouble. The 2275 is under-rated power wise, as are most Marantz receivers. The circuit boards are also laid out much nicer than the DC if you ever end up doing any work on them.

Um..I have some vintage Marantz receivers too!

All are listed in my sig... also have a 2216 for the basement.

Model 5s, anyone? They're not working at the moment, but should be recapped and alive again within a week or so after more than two decades of hibernation. They've been posted several times recently, but are worthy of it, IMO.

Ed: I joined the group as well.
