Because most of them sucked much like Coral speakers. Think a lot of times when they put out a good set they just got lucky.

All the caps in all the fishers of this era are crap. Until they're replaced your upper end is trash. Afterwards they are still a bit rolled off, by design.

For the most part I don't think that replacing crossover capacitors helps much but old Fisher's definitely need new capacitors before judging them

Fisher used the ritchey red ended caps in this era, and they simply have not survived.
