Why did these JBL 2440 Compression Drivers go for such a high price ($1125)?

I bought my 2441s without diaphragms for $400 and put in the Radian diaphragms with Mylar surrounds. So $600 for the pair.
 
I love the Radians on the 1" jbls and Altecs. While I haven't tried them yet,There's no doubt the big 2" Radian versions are excellent
What are the condition of your 2441's? Road used or pampered?
What X-overs are you using? And What horns?

With value discussions and ebay links it would need to be reworked for the Lansing forum.
IOW get rid of the live links and value discussion.
