Why do people do this????

I went to look at EPI M180's and when I take the grill cover off, I just shook my head in disgust.....someone totally butchered those poor things. In the cabinets (which were in great condition) were two Pyle 500 watt car woofers and some funky looking Realistic tweeters. I looked at the kid and said,"and what am I supposed to do with this,I can't use this!!" It was too bad because the cabinet and grill covers were in A- condition......a shame really. If it had the original tweeters, I would have taken them......

The horror... the horror...
I saw a pair of Altec's recently that had been butchered with hot glue. I felt a great disturbance in the force.

that would cost about 200 per speaker.....not worth it to me......plus the tweeters require a trade in.......on a good note, I have some Bolivars coming this weekend that just need a good foam job....otherwise in pristine condition, so I guess I will just focus on that :thmbsp:
 
I know what you mean. I saw a nice pair of Altecs speakers in the value village and I went to take of the grill cover and I saw that it was missing one of the woofers and had some car speaker woofer in it instead.

Even the tweeters were some piece of crap tweeters too.
 
Probably because some knucklehead ruined the original guts by clipping the crap out of some horrid "stereo" setup.
