I guess I have to wait until next time, problem is, the next car (prototype) might not be for public consumption and will wear a mask and there won't be pictures, YUK!!! Damn, it looks good from the back too!!

I hear the GT will leave the Vipers in the dust? :scratch2:

How do I keep ending up with these cars in my drveway??

I love that GT. I've always thhought that the original GT 40s were some of the most beutiful cars ever built. I'm glad Ford didn't stray too far from the timeless original. I've only seen one of the new ones. It was painted in the old light blue/orange stripe gulf/lemans racing colors. Quite a sight. No way I could have turned down a ride.

I know what I'll be driving when my lottery ship comes in. Our 'country' Ford dealer (really, out in the sticks in Woodbine, NJ - town of 1,000 folks) has a bright red one on his showroom floor. I lust after it every time I'm down there. Beautiful.

Our Ford dealer drew one, too on the lottery system they had-he made $40K on it by selling it to another dealer...$40 K for shufflin' some papers....Holy Moley !

Yeah, and since Ford shelved the program and isn't building any more past this model year, prices are only going to get crazier.

I actually laid eyes on one at Ken Wilson Ford in Canton, N.C.-outside of Asheville. They were "entertaining" offers of over $210,000...That was about 18 months ago. I wonder if they're still "entertaining" ?

Bill,
I wonder what this VIN # 1 will be worth someday? :scratch2:

"There is pretty much no differance between east oakland and detroit"

then you have

Oakland County, MI

wierd.

Okay I'll shut up now. :nono:

There is a Ford dealer here that recently featured a GT in their commercial. The owner was doing his schpiel in front of the dealership, then has a GT do a long burnout accross the front of the building. Whatever hamfisted operator got the luck of driving it for the shot, however, just pegged the stupid pedal and dumped it. 5 straight seconds of hearing that thing bounce off the rev limiter. Ouch.

The other day I was talking to a buddy in the dealer service arena, and the word is that they blew the motor with that shot. Grenaded 'er just after the camera cuts out. Dummies. ;)

beautiful car dg..... i saw one in birmingham michigan just sitting in a parking lot... they really sit low. the top of the roof is waist high.

i saw where sammy hagar and mark anthony purchased 1 each.

i think ford is wanting to push the mustang shelby's instead of the gt's.

Wow...FORD got this GT right!

The Ford GT is one of my favorite cars of all time--such beautiful lines.

In the 1960s (my car model building days), I just couldn't get enough of the original of this car (and Ferraris, etc.). I had an HO supercharged (custom brass chassis) Riggen (sp?) version of this car back in my HO racing days (ZZZOOOOOOMMMM!).

I'm generally anti-retro when it comes to car designs, but I think that FORD got this one right...REAL right! Then again, I drive a MINI Cooper (screams...RETRO!).

But...if money were no object, I would just LOVE to drive one of these Ford GT beauties. Thanks for sharing the photos!

A happy dgwojo bulb buyer too!

VERY cool :yippy: A friend of mine has one of the very first Vipers only has about 6000 miles on it. Only drives it on sunny days with -% chance of rain, fun to ride in more fun to drive, his has had the computer lobotomized (no governors and remapped fuel and ignition curves) 0-90 in about half a block. But a royal pain to get in and out of even without the top on it.

The Viper that was here was used in the warm-up laps at MIS in Brooklyn, MI, I guess that's a benefit of owning one, you get to do things like that. We loaded the Viper up with some Turbo-Blue, after that it wouldn't go straight when you jumped on it, these cars are like rockets for sure!! Glad everyone enjoyed the pics, Dave.

Here in my hometown of Omaha NE, we have a dealer that's "just a county mile north in Blair NE"...

The dealer is Woodhouse... they've been dubbed the world's largest Viper dealer.

I got to look at quite a few Vipers when we picked up our new F150 about two years ago.
