Wife scores me some ol gear

Well my wife wanted to go to garage sales this weekend, I really wasn't in the mood since its been raining and all. I thought I would just kick back and spin some Pink Floyd. Sounds like good music on a rainey day right?? Tracy went and left me alone, After a couple of hours she returned with the usual nick nacks etc. And than she told me she bought something that I had to go get because it was too heavy for her to carry. As I was needing to go get some smokes at the store I thought what the heck and go see what kind of crap she wanted me to drag home. I pull up to this ol freaky looking home, looks as if it was straight out of the monsters movie. Anyway I go up and knock on the door and a little frail ol lady answers and I tell here what I was there for. She takes me back in this dusty room over in the corner of her house telling me this was her sons room back in the day. I'm thinking WTF am I even doing here. Over in the corner of the room sat this Pioneer PL-D TT on top of a SX-1250 with a set of pioneer CS88 speakers. The lady precedes to tell me my wife bought this for me. I'm so freaken happy that after all the times Tracy gives me a hard time about my collection, She adds to it.:banana: All for 20.00 bucks.

I would say Tracy just earned a $$$ gift certificate to the local spa, and a nice dinner on the town. :thmbsp:

Great score!

VERY cool, congrats!!! Honestly, I have no idea about the TT & speaks, but I'm sure you know the SX-1250 is worth a heck of a lot more than $20 by itself. :D

did you take the picture?

did you even SEE what's behind it?

That woman still has some nice gear to listen to....

hint: ctf-1250 on the left reflection, something else lower left, spec-4 on the right....

What is she up to really??

Yes I owe her for this one, I guess I'll be eating some Italian food in my near future. I asked her why and she said because when ever she wants something I will always give in and get it for her. Shes knows this is like crack to me, She told me she would keep her eye out for more since this is the season. Now I have her feeding my passion.
I hooked everything up and after a good cleaning the 1250 will be good to go. I'm thinking the controls need it on the speaks also, I can't get anything out of the TT yet. I'm not very familiar with it as much as the rest. I have enclosed a pic of some of my gear.:D

Care to share???

Where do you have all the recievers sitting? I hope you cover them up from dust etc. when they're not in rotation. My wife would kill me if I had that many, I own 6 right now.

Actually I do have something for you, PM me your address so I can send these lil speakers to you. I forgot I had a set of them realistic speakers in the box truck if your still looking for some.

I can't figure out how to post back to others in the same post. Can someone help me?

Majoryyz- I have them stored in MY junk room, Tracy has her own room for her stuff.

Dave-- come to think of it your right, those shelves are bent. Yes I feel she's one of a kind.

Jon & Elgato-- Yes I think she does and YES the feeling is mutual.

Look in the bottom right-hand corner of the post you want to reply to, & click on the "quote" button. You can delete everything but what's relevant, but it's easy to delete TOO much, & you have to go back with your browser & try again. No big deal, just takes a little practice, & you'll still screw up sometimes, after you understand it. ;)

For some odd reason, my wife is also on the lookout for me. She traveled out of town last weekend and actually tried to find something.

Last night she heard some new gear and said "which ones go in the living room" !!??!?!!

I think the body snatchers have started to take our wives.

Great wife you have --give her an extra kiss on behalf of gear-lovers everywhere; may there be more wives like her!

I can't see my wife doing that, but if we lived in a large house with plenty of room (say, in a basement) for gear, I'd like to think she might. She wouldn't now, because we live in an apartment and the available space for putting gear is already pretty much FULL. If something comes home, I prefer to "sneak" it in and see that something else leaves to compensate for it, as I know she wouldn't like the stacks to grow any further. I don't blame her, actually; I think I've "hit the limit" for anything reasonable in an apartment this size.
