Wilco fans?

Their 2 disc Live Set "kicking Television" is revelatory as well. Just an amzing band, and so much better with addition of Nels Cline on guitar...can't wait to hear what they come up with next!

I just got through disc 1 tonight. Wish there was a little less crowd noise, but it sounds great. Nels is not cut loose until Hell Is Chrome, and a long jam on Handshake Drugs.

You're right ... can't wait to hear what's next, and to catch them live next summer! My son saw them one night on their week-long run in Chicago last year.

I'm going to be ripping this one for sure, after listening to it 3-4 times. Tonight was just a trial run on my secondary system.

They are on Austin city limits in 15 minutes on my local
PBS station,I guess I'll check it out after reading the posts
here~I havent heard enough Wilco to know if I like it ?

It's on PBS now. I missed the start.

Our local schedule said Lucinda Williams and Old Crow Medicine Show, thats why I missed the start, and to DVR all of it.

I wanted to watch SNL but football was in OT.

And you just posted on the very thing.

:tears::tears::tears:

Yeah right now I am recording the LW/OCMS show.

I have been thrown off a few times by the schedule. See if it is on again later tonight. PBS here in Cincy plays ACL twice every Saturday night.

We have TW and they allow searches on DVR. Just LW/OCMS was listed.

The TV guide said Wilco was playing,But it ended up being
the same Lucinda williams show you guys have mentioned,
I'll still keep my eyes open for it~

I have played Kicking Televison twice in the last two days, all of it. And threw in all of A Ghost.

Some decent work on the album Being There, but I prefer Son Volt. Then again, I'd always preferred the "Jay songs" over the "Jeff songs" during their Uncle Tupelo tenure. I'm not at all down with post-Being There Wilco, especially that Billy Bragg nonsense.

To each his own, of course, but I'd rate the first Mermaid Avenue album as one of my very favorites from the past 10 years or so. Several songs on there are note perfect (to my ears) -- California Stars, Birds and Ships, At My Window Sad and Lonely, One by One, Hesitating Beauty, and The Unwelcome Guest. It's an album that I've evangelized to many people, both young and old, male and female, and never gotten a negative reaction.

I guess if you don't care for Jeff Tweedy or Billy Bragg, or are put off by overtly political lyrics, or whatever other reason, that's cool. I just want to put in a good word for the record so that anyone perusing this thread doesn't write it off without giving it a listen. Like all great music, it gets under your skin and doesn't easily let go.

I guess if you don't care for ... Billy Bragg...

I do like Billy Bragg, "Brewing Up With Billy Bragg" in particular.

I like Billy Bragg and also some Pete Seeger. No problem with political lyrics whatsoever.

I've met JT 3-4 times in Chicago at Double Door, cool guy, actually. Just not into his songwriting style.

I love that record, California Stars and Unwelcome Guest are favorites.
But like liquor and women, musical tastes vary.

Going to get my son a great birthday present, 2 tickets per night to Wilco at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee. Glad he is not on here. Going to be 23.

Another ticketing fiasco. I was not able to get any tickets for Wilco at the Pabst Theater in Milwaukee for April 14/15.

Scalpers had them at $364 - 500 (35 face value). Why do the fans always get the shaft? Bring back the days of camping out at venues.

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is one of the best albums of the decade, in my opinion. The way they incorporated some more experimental instrumentation and production technique into their rootsy rock was absolutely brilliant.

Sky Blue Sky is probably my second favorite, just a great batch of well produced laid back tunes and it's great showcase for Nels Cline's unique guitar style.

Great live band too.
