Yup. I see a lot of stuff in the Seattle area on the GW auctions that I wish I could buy. Don't want to pay for shipping and can't go get it. I don't need it anyway. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
 
I guess it all depends on what you're into. I wouldn't buy that for $100...but that's just me.
 
NO! Don't need. Too many project pieces already. The disease is in remission. Don't tempt me with more stuff.
 
The way things are going in Austin these days, someone would be asking $250 for the 8080db alone. I don't think I've ever seen such crazy prices for vintage equipment.

That said, the Magnavox 1500 receiver with a price of $15 earlier today looked interesting. I'm hoping that someone here got it.

There is a CLer in Annandale that snaps up all the SCAN & related Danish/Teak type furniture they can find, then posts it for 3 or 4 times the price every week on CL. The prices are too high, it never sells and it gets spammed week after week after week.

Wonder if its the same seller - there is a teak type wall unit in the picture behind the gear ... but the $520 price is more like their style, not $250

If I didn't already have one (don't bother trying to sell me yours, anyone) I would buy one in perfect shape for $250 after hearing how good they sound, not to mention the good looks and ample connections available on this wunderkind unit. I know many here steal them from the thrifts for silly-cheap prices but that occcurrance has so far eluded me. Still, what a great player and I know that unless you're a dyed-in-the-wool tube addict or hatefully against Sansui, anyone else would love to own the 8080. Mine serves me beautifully every single day.:music:
