Woman trampled at Wal-Mart

"ORANGE CITY, Fla. (Nov. 29) - A mob of shoppers rushing for a sale on DVD players trampled the first woman in line and knocked her unconscious as they scrambled for the shelves at a Wal-Mart Supercenter."

This was for a $29 DVD player!

Wal-Mart, in an incredible display of generosity offered to hold a DVD player for the woman till she gets out of the Hospital.

I feel sorry for the woman but find the story and what it reveals about human behaviour, or lack of, quite amusing.

I wonder how good a lawyer you'd have to be to sock them rat bastards from Bentonville with some sort of liability suit? Their store, their sale, their merchandise, and their management's decision as to hours, crowd control, etc?

She probably can get a couple grand for breathing the word "lawsuit"

Thor, that would be an "expense" and one of a magnitude that it may require signatures from Regional or Divisional personnel.

My bet is that they either hope she forgets about it, or that they are waiting for the photo op and press coverage of this major humanitarian event.

Last update I heard the lady had one under her arm while being trampled. WalMart was "generous" enough to let her keep it gratis. Like they say " If you play with the bull you get the horns"
