Worst pressing ever?

I own 20,000 records, including Metallica's "Death Magnetic", in both the 2x LP & the CD version. I can easily think of several hundred if not several thousand pressings that are worse.

Certainly you can think of something besides "Death Magnetic" to qualify as "worst pressing ever"???

BTW, my 2x LP copy of Death Magnetic has no reference to "180 Gram Audiophile Vinyl". Which version do you own?

That's exactly my sentiment. My copy of Death Magnetic sounds pretty freaking good actually. My reissue copy of 'Abbey Road' is worse.

I have the Warner Bros. 50 edition and I thought that it had that label on the outer packaging maybe I'm mistaken but it is on 180 gr. vinyl and does sound like crap .... It's not the worst I have heard but it is the worst "new" vinyl that I have purchased .... Another craptastic pressing is Jimi Hendrix - Strange Things Showcase 1985 Castle Communications catalog # SHLP101 .... Lifeless as well as a total stinkers compilation

I've got dozens of picture discs and I play every one of them. All of my LP picture discs sound fine, comparable to black vinyl versions. OTOH, most of my cardboard picture discs sound like.... err cardboard records. No big surprise there.

In my experience, the notion that picture discs sound terrible and should only be displayed is a myth.

Thanks to everyone who answered my question, I have always avoided Picture Disks, now I will not fear them. :thmbsp:

Bell Records 45s were absolutely awful, and their LPs weren't much better. But Bell was mainly a bubble gum music label, so no big loss...

I always buy Bell 45's cause sometimes the versions of the songs are so quirky that they are cool. but yeah mostly they sound like poo.
