Would Smaller Advent tweeters work in KLH Model 6?

So I blew a tweeter in one of my KLH Model Six speakers. I have two Smaller Advent fried egg tweeters that I have been meaning to sell. Would one of them work in the KLH Six? Looks like both are 4 ohm. Thanks!

I've measured a couple of KLH tweeters at about 4.1 to 4.3 ohms, out of the circuit. Not sure what reading the Advents would show.

Also what are the crossover points of each?

There is a relatively easy way to find out, which is to try it. I wouldn't suggest sawing and screwing to mount the Advent tweeter - tons of masking tape would do for a quick check, and would leave no tell tale marks if you decide to stick with a replacement correct tweeter (which aren't expensive). At the same time, it would rule out a dead capacitor, which is often the real culprit when a KLH tweeter seems to have given up the ghost.

Thanks, all, for the invaluable advice! I will try one out to see how it sounds and determine whether it could be a capacitor. If it sounds good, I would probably want to replace both tweeters with the SA versions.

I'd stick in new capacitors first, it may save you some work, and they're cheap, too. I'd say that's the issue much more often than a blown tweeter.
