Y adapters

With some of the changes I've been making I found myself in need of a few Y adapters so I went looking on eBay. Ran across these at very reasonable prices, they looked good so I ordered a pair of 1 male / 2 female. They arrived last week, I was so impressed for the money I ordered 2 pair of the 1 female / 2 male to replace some others I was using. These beat the pants off my old adapters at 1/3 the price, I'm a happy camper.

Wondering if any others here have any experience with these cables?

Still a fan of these ...

I've heard concerns about the additional weight on the jacks, but I don't imagine it's any worse than the cable versions. Main thing is to provide some stress relief to reduce the load if possible.

I just get whatever looks decent, is shielded, and has gold-plated connectors, from either one of a couple of different retailers.

Good timing. I need some more for a new project.

Well, that was my main reason for posting this here, also for any feedback from other users.

These aren't botique cables with prices worth bragging about like a Rolex, more like high quality solidly built cables at prices worth bragging about.

i would like to find some of these but i do not use *bay. Any other sources?

No idea, I checked the net for info but not for an alternate source.

Not using eBay kinda limits your elctronics resources doesn't it? No need to explain why, it's just my main resource and couldn't imagine not using it that's all.

Out of curiosity, why two jacks needed at amplifier inputs? Do you feed it from two different preamplifiers?

Maybe it's my eyes, but I can't read the manufacturer of the cables from the pics the OP provided. If somebody could post the name, you could search on Amazon. Most of the 'store' items you find on EBay can also be found on Amazon, or original manufacturer web sites.

Nope ... I feed the amp off a tape loop from the front channel outputs of my Sansui QRX 9001. Having the return line allows all the other post processing to happen in the same loop.

(PS ... the Sansui does NOT have a PRE out, or I'd use that. Seeing as it doesn't ... I don't) ;-}

I do have two primary amps I swap in and out with a Niles switcher. The other amp is a custom tube build, and I liked the setup well enough that I built the "Y" into the back panel ... like a belly button, only this one's an "innie" ... <G>

Oh. Here's another "Y" in my system ...

Although I figure a dbx200 switcher qualifies more as a YYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY !!

Gotcha.

The cables are Ethereal, from metrahometheater if I remember correctly.

I see some Ethereal Y adapters on Amazon. Also found them on a web site called 'accessories4less'. I've purchased stuff from the former, not from the latter.
