Yamaha A 1000 integrated opinions??

I am looking at a A1000 from the early to mid 80s. What was MSRP?? I hear $520 and $1000. What can I expect soundwise from this unit?? What are its sonic traits?? Thanks,KG

Very clean and powerful. Class A to 15 watts I believe. I had one and really liked it. Great flexibility in the phono section. Only drawback was lack of pre out/pwr in IIRC.

I have the A-700 version of this AMP and, frankly, I can't say it sounds inferior to my CA-2010!

I love my A-1000. It is the best sounding amp I own in my modest vintage collection. They can be had for a song on the 'Bay. Too bad you can't find one in Silver....that would be sweet!

I just bought a super clean A700 as a back up unit & it sounds good hooked up to my vintage JBL speakers
