Yamaha CR-1020 -- tuner slipping worth a hundy?

Mystery

constantly upgrading...
Have a line on a Yamaha CR-1020.
Few bulbs are out but the real problem is that the tuner slips and the only way to change stations is to open and manually pull the string.
Is it easily fixable and worth a hundy?
Thankss

Thanks for comments.
Seller mentioned that he opens the box and manually pulls the string to find stations.
Does that mean, it's only slipping at the tuner knob?
I will jump if it's a small fix.

Leaning towards passing this one as I'm not that good in fixing things and having it serviced will end up costing too much.
:scratch2:

buy it, send to me! if it is fully functional except for the tuner string issue, then it is a great deal. and there will be no shortage of people willing to help you on the forum if you want to try and fix it.

Oh don't be such a chicken. We'll talk you through it. There might even be a local AKer that you can bribe with beer or wine or something that will come to you and fix it as you chat and drink

It will probably take you ten minutes.

On the pulley attached to the tuning condenser you will see a small round piece sticking up where the dial cord is attached. Quite often if you make certain that the dial cord is stretched over this protrusion it adds enough tension to make the tuning knob work properly. Do this with both sides of the pulley.
