Hi, I came across a Yamaha Natural Sound MX-630 amp today.
I believe that it's about 130wpc and in good condition.
They want $160 for it. Are these desirable or problematic amps?
Is that a fair asking price?
Thanks in advance,Bob

I had one and I regret selling it. Nothing flashy, but the HCA technology worked well. It never gave me a lick of trouble.

I think that $160 is a little steep. I would be more comfortable paying about $125 for one.

From what I'm seeing $160 is cheap. Canuck AM has one for $260 and AGon has a dreamer looking for over five.

I agree with rushfan-market is kinda soft right now, so you always can negotiate and I think too-$125 is more realistic. Nice amp though...always liked Yamahas.

I went back and looked at it again. They wouldn't budge on the price and didn't have anything to test it with.

Wasn't really in the market for another amp so walked away, which with my addiction is REALLY hard to do!

Thanks,Bob

I just put some mx-m70's in my system. They are surprisingly capable.

Never heard a bad sounding Yamaha. :music:

I had one for a while and I'd agree that $160 is on the high side. For some reason I could never warm up to the one I had and happily sold it for about half what that fellow is asking.

I've had an MX-600U for several years, running Bose 901s that killed lesser amps. I love it. I've had several Yamaha amps (two right now) and liked the sound of all of them.

I paid a lot less at a garage sale. I'd offer to take whatever is necessary to test it. The combination of price and inability to test is something of a killer.
