Yamaha NS-1000Ms, need specs.

Curious about the specs of a friends mains: Yamaha NS-1000Ms. Anyone know what they are? (already know what they look like).

They are one of the greats IMHO. Super accurate, very loud and quite heavy.
A tad lacking in the bass but otherwise a very nice sounding speaker.
The NS 2000 solves any of the problems with the larger woof and at around twice the initial price.
They are tough to find parts for and always expensive when you do. Yamaha had some of the parts still available but at extremely high prices.
Probably one of Yamahas best ever speakers.

Apparently, when these were originally designed they were voiced with Crown DC 300 amps and still sound best with these. I know of one mixing / mastering engineer who has used them for 28 years and is of the opinion that only the SP Technology Timepiece 2.1 is in the same league - perhaps a little better.

Am wondering yoiur source for this information? Seems a bit odd, considering the gear that Yamaha offered.
