They are definately not sleepers. The entire NS line fron the 625s and up are all great sounding speakers. I have owned them all. The only ones I kept were the 690s. The 670s will sound better with fresh caps. Remove the wire terminal cup and very easy to remove install. The bass can be improved by a touch more fill. These were natural series speakers and shine with classical, jazz, live music in my opinion. My 690s sit on twin subs with the volume down pretty low to help fill in the bass a bit more.
Thank you for your input.I just don't see them very often.Maybe because people just sit on them?

Perhaps. Id try to get the buyer to $200, but $250 would work. There will always be someone willing to take them next year and you can get your money out; if not get $300 for them as gear us not decreasing in value these days.

Even if you lose $50/ year consider it a 0.13 cent per day rental fee.

Well, I struck....WOW!!!
I'm really glad I grabbed these. I almost passed on these. I kept about to commit off on on all day. Your message here inspired to to just get them. I had to see if you were right. Man, I'm listening to some orchestrated music right now and hearing it all. Compared to my BA a100's, there really is none, but now I'm hearing a larger soundstage, more definition, individual instrument placements on the mix, and true bass instrument rendition. The violin sound like violins. I'm hearing all the nuances that the conductor intended me to hear, and the producer who makes this, wow was he good. My Boston's are good for a party entertainment atmosphere, but for listening to the mix, what is actually on the recording, well for me it's unbelievable the difference. I've always read here to start with speakers first and I almost didn't, almost went for the receiver. My Onkyo TX 80 isn't all that bad, LOL. Thanks you guys, the Akers come through again. Now I know what you guys are talk and get excited about because this is my first equipment replacement. Cooooool!
I bought a set of ns 670 four months ago for 30 bucks.I have to say I am very imprssed.Have many other hi end sets of speakers and still prefer to listen to the ns 670s .Have other studio monitors and still like the Yamahas better

I've owned the NS-670's and the 690's for about 7 yrs now. Just recently purchased some NS-1000m's. The 690's were one of my favorite vintage speakers along with my ESS AMT 1a. The NS-1000m's are now my favorite. I would keep the ESS AMT 1a's just because the tweeter is so good. I would let the 670's and the 690's go, but would miss them. They are special speakers.

NS-1000's have been my favorite for 40 years. Purchased new at the Bitburg AB BX in 1980 for around $850 . I additionally obtained a set of NS-1000M's and a set of NS-690's in 2001 for free from my brother and my father.

I have the same ess amt 1a's and listen to them once in awile. Also have ar 90s .If you have the room I would keep them all as backups.250.00 in my opinion is low .My ns 670 speaker cabinet veneers are really beat up.Paid only 40 bucks but the best 40 bucks i ever spent.I also have rodger sound labs 3600 studio monitors that don't even come cloose to my yamaha ns 670s.
