Yamaha repair list

My list of Amps etc to repair is getting longer.....

1 x M65 stays in protection (#1 sons, )
1x RX1100u let some smoke out
1x C 600 (or 800) let some smoke out
1 M35 has no output but powers up.

Impossible to get fixed here in the Bahamas, and Parts would have to be imported. A real Pita.

I can get these all to Atlanta into my Son's hands, any repair techs to recommend?
Even if a few hours away from Ga. He loves road trips!

Cleaning out the Garage but I'll be damned if I'll throw them away.......

Meanwhile Dorian rebuild continues...........

My M-65 also had this problem before. In another thread of mine, which is maybe obvious and you saw it already, I had to have fusible-flameproof resistors R141,142 replaced to fix the protection problem. Your M-65 could have a different cause of problem though. I am also looking at replacing R141,142 again because the replacements were not the correct types even though they have been working since the 1995 repair.

Back in 1995 I had the M-65 connected to a DSP-3000 that was connected to a CX-1000. The system also had two M-45s and was a 6-speaker DSP-3000 setup. I'm thinking or guessing that the protection problem on the M-65 could have been caused by a very large volume (voltage) of input signal coming from CX-1000/DSP-3000 combo with analog audio connections: if the volume on the CX-1000 was turned up high (over the 16-bit bit monitor level), and then the DSP-3000 master volume was also turned way up, then a large overloaded volume audio signal could maybe have been sent into the M-65 and fused R141/142. The volume on the CX-1000 was supposed to be adjusted to a 16-bit level on the DSP-3000 bit monitor, but maybe someone else jacked it up when I was not around and did not know that the DSP-3000 master volume was the volume control to use. Or, there could have been some other cause like my cat pissing all over my stereo cables, I don't know! Later, if I remember correctly, I connected a digital coax from the CX-1000 to the DSP-3000 to eliminate the need to use the bit monitor adjustment.

I like the M-65 a lot! It is sounding good right now, and I want to keep it working that way. Sometimes the left or right channel cuts out on powerup until the volume is increased some, and I have already looked into getting a new relay switch. I've already done other repairs, so I almost have it ready for another 15+ years of use if it doesn't "chernobyl" on me.

The Above Pre is actually a C-65. So the list for repair is:
1 x M65 stays in protection (#1 sons, )
1x RX1100u let some smoke out
1x C65 let some smoke out
1 M35 has no output but powers up.
1 MX-600.

Sad state of affairs, I'll be getting this (and My Sons working equipment) to him in Atlanta eventually, I did find a shop up there on the internet,
Wizards Electronics, Feed them a piece at a time and see if they're good.

If anyone has any other suggestions?
