Yamaha YP-D71 power supply issue - help?

OK, got a super great cosmetically Yamaha yp-d71. No power.

Pulled the bottom - F101 fuse popped. Checked power at AC1 & AC2 = 120V. Replaced fuse. Tested OR to OR /(A to A) with multi = registered 26.4V. However, it popped when testing WH to WH / (B to B) from the transformer with multi. See schematic / photo #1

My only thought is C101 is bad. Which is another issue with the odd retrianguer, narrow cubed shaped dark red box . It is listed as 0.033 +120 on the schematic #2.

The owners manual is no help and the service manual posted to vinyl engine is missing the parts list.

Yes. The transformer was bad. Crazy as those seem to never fail. Rewoundy -no issues now. Need afa referral for rewinding - pm me.

I would take this opportunity to put an external power supply (or at least external transformer) on the turntable and dump the internal line transformer altogether.

Sounds like a good idea, where would one source a 1st class (Quality) external power supply?

All you really need is well regulated dc supply for the voltage neeed by your tt. There are many options from the standard electronics distributors like Digikey , Mouser, Allied, Jameco.
fwiw you could run your tt off batteries.and a regulator/upverter if you want to go all the way.
