I no longer partake..although the urge is there. Tried some stuff awhile back and was seriously unimpressed..so I tried some other stuff,same results.
I'm 71 now and have been around the block more times than I should have with more stuff then I should have. Acapulco Gold,Panama Red ( a fave) Jamaican stuff (good),
Black Gunge (hard to get) and then the old standby Mexican grown which was surprisingly good. I remember the giggily pot which made you laugh so hard your sides bursts or stuff that just gave you a good body high. Now, it all seems, well not the same. Reports of things being added including crush glass and other stuff...WTH???
So I abstain from all of it. Lucky to be here and I am content with that.
 
It's a bit like that board game, which if you're old enough, you might remember the commercial for it... which seemed to be on all the time for a year or two at least in the 70s (or maybe early 80s). It might have been called "Go for Broke" and in the commercial, you had a character playing the game who yelled something like "I lost everything, but I WON!" It's not that complicated, the scenario posed is that you spend all of the money on audio gear and nothing else. Even if you don't really have the want for more expensive audio toys, you gotta do it - go for broke!

I still partake, but I know what you mean... it isn't really as compelling for me as it once was, despite all of the great choices and the supreme potency of the stuff that you can get these days, and get legally. I'll sometimes be chilling out in the evening, watching some streaming TV, listening to music or reading something and think, I could get out the weed, but then I never even bother, as if dealing with that isn't even worth the hassle and it isn't as if it's any hassle at all. It just isn't all that compelling for me anymore, more often than not. A friend of mine who I've known for decades but was a major weed smoker before I know him has a kind of philosophy by which he is able to see the world as very weird, wonderful and fascinating without the aid of any drug... just by adopting a certain attitude about it. I think that little by little I'm kind of getting to the same place, even if I still do like to partake here and there.

As for the additives in the stuff, I don't see that as an issue with the legal stuff as that sort of thing is very tightly regulated... or at least it is in my state. I think that it's both safer and more potent than it's ever been.

i just got an email from a member of royalty, who said he needed help moving funds around and didn't have a US account- so I agreed to help.. he said I would get $20k just for helping out. :D

I replied yes of course and referred him to this thread.. stating that I must have manifested this opportunity via positive intentions. he agreed.

Also what hasn`t been mentioned is the fed tax. that will be owed to the Treasury dept. on the $20,000.00 inheritance that the estate`s lawyer will report to the IRS, after getting the SSN from any recepient(s) of the estate`s proceeds, which happens at the will reading !
Just another way the "Gobment" makes sure they get their "fair share" PROMPTLY OFF THE TOP before any handouts !
 
crap part is, I'm so big box store, I couldn't even think of 1 piece of gear that cost $10K.. sadly that level of awesome, it's just not on my radar.
