FWIW, I thought about doing a stacked MDF type enclosure but going with something a little more outside the box than just curved sides. I was thinking about maybe something vaguely pear shaped. But then I decided to go the el cheapo route to show new-to-DIY types that it can be easy and inexpensive. Maybe in the future I'll revisit then and do something out there.

Edit: Hey Z, the Magico guy, Alon Wolf, used to be on the basslist where I first met Newman. We've seen a few of his creations before Magico was a big deal. Some pretty cool stuff. Imagine a speaker built like that Magico Mini only being ~7' tall and using Focal Utopia drivers. I believe he called them "the Wall".

I've talked about my concept for finishing the Indignias out and I'm getting close. Today I got the cheeks pretty much done, just a little light sanding left when they're completely dry. They're still a tiny bit tacky (way high humidity today). They aren't mounted yet. In the pic they're just standing up beside the cabs but you get the idea. I've thought about shortening them up a little (the cheeks) so for a first go I'm just screwing them on. the black cabs are still pretty dirty, I just took a quick swipe at 'em with a rag for this pic. Hopefully tomorrow I can get them on and the drivers back in. So anyway, here's the pic:

Most excellent, Ray! Interesting look. And I thought my cab was pretty deep (front to back). Is it about .4 cu.ft?

Right at .38 cuft. They're the same profile as the PE square cabinets.

I cyphered it up when he first showed them off and I figured he had around $2000 in MDF alone. :yikes:

Dave, you got any info on the "closet monster" sub that he built? All I remember was that it was multiple 18's in a closet under the stairs and that he broke wine glasses 2 rooms away.

Thanks, Bob. At this point they're mostly cosmetic since they're just screwed on. They'll still stiffen up the sides a little but it's not truly coupled. When I figure out if that's really the size/shape I want then I plan on gluing them in place also and that will make them a structural entity that will add stiffness to the side panels.
