Got 1 running and listening right now! Not too shabby, even with virtually no tweaking. :thmbsp: I'm very surprised, especially considering the price of admission! I can tell that I need to play with alignment. There's a little phasing going on when I move around the room, but much less than I expected though. Time to build the 2nd crossover! I'll have to wait on any measurements until tomorrow. I don't think the kids will like sweeps or pink noise while they trying to sleep...
More surprises are in store once the correct waveguides get there. The PE's are not likely getting down low enough to meet the L100 woofs. You'll be wanting to tweak the lowpass to optimize it for those, as well. Having an RTA will be of considerable value in accomplishing that.... :yes:

It's unclear whether you're using D210s or D220s. Did you start with D210s and switch?
If so, do you find the D220s appreciably "smoother?"
Well, I don't think I will be using the box grills on my ESS AMT EWGs. I pulled the horn out far enough to have physical alignment and the crossover point clear up noticably. Stronger mid bass responce and clearer vocals. Sounds to good to make the trade off with the grills. So now my plan is to Repaint the painted parts all shiny and new looking and refirb the wood bass, make good looking stand offs for the horn mount and call it good. Pictures to come. Cheers.

and will tell all. Well, all that I know to tell anyway. This is supposed to really improve things quite a bit, and I believe JBL incorporates it in some of their offerings, or did in the past. I am afraid I can not explain the science behind it, I'm sure others can.

Setup shows huge promise:thmbsp: It's a bit less efficient than I'm used to but that's OK. I designed it so I would need subs so the bass is lacking - not too worried about that.
I can't find my cheapo Kodak camera - which takes the best pics of inanimate objects, so I settled for the Nikon - which I can't make work good:thumbsdn:

Yeah, the 2206H is killer in a vented cab, and I could easily do that here - but I plan on handing off to subs so I went with an underdamped closed box for a nice, clean, slow rolloff. Better transition....
They eat the power right out of my ~60wch Krell Klone. You gotta understand, I'm coming from a LaScala cab with 511s up top, next to that almost anything is innefficient - but this is gonna sound way better, I can tell already.:thmbsp: And with more juice...well.....
That's the standard efficiency version, Jack's crossover design with charge-coupling.
It eliminates zero-crossing distortion; the caps are run biased 9V above zero. In particular, it takes a bit of "edge" off the highs.
Russell will tell us soon if he can hear the difference. JBL uses this approach in its TOTL consumer models.... :yes:

No it's allways been 210's.
Would like to do a comparo with 220's if the oppertunity arrises.
The foam does quite a bit for higher SPL's, the top holds together better and pretty much
makes the system "sound" the same at low volume as it does at high volume, just louder. :thmbsp:
