thanks FOH Engineer for the like. i made a bit of progress with my console. i fixed the left speaker. someone had unhooked both left speaker wires where they connect in the back middle bottom. i bought this at a local thrift store. i noticed it a few days earlier then the day i purchased. i looked at it on two different days and the staff were saying that lots of people were asking about it. one staff said it didnt work, but it was placed right in front of an electrical outlet. i plugged it in and it powered up. the radio worked fine , but the speakers were static sounding and jumping on and off. turntable moved and stopped like the typical issues I've researched.. i think someone unhooked the speaker wires but left them touching to make it seem broken. plus the model number tag was ripped in half and i still do not know it or the year it was made. on the day i bought this zenith the man working at the register told me it didnt work and asked me if i knew how to fix. he tried to talk me out of buying. he did tell me several of his friends wanted it. I knew i liked this console because it reminded me when i was a young boy and my mother would play albums on a console. i bought it to use it and not to try and resell. I listened to the radio tonight while making dinner and talking with my son . the sound is something real. it feels different. im impressed with it and so glad i was the lucky buyer.
